The downgrade consists of simply replacing the spring with one that allows the rifle to reach the maximum power of 1 joule. The operation is non-invasive and can be easily restored to factory conditions.

The downgrade service includes:

- disassembly and inspection of the replica
- replacement of the mainspring
- application of grease where necessary
- measurement of the replica's initial muzzle velocity

this modification is mandatory for the Irish market.
