KelTec PLR16 gas carbine
The PLR16 is a replica of the compact gas-powered PLR16 carbine (GBBR) manufactured by the EC. Thanks to the license granted by the manufacturer of the flammable original (KelTec), we can enjoy the authentic markings and nomenclature.
The replica has been perfectly reproduced in relation to the flammable original and it fits perfectly. It was mostly made of high quality polymer reinforced with fibreglass. The body of the replica was made of polymer along with the front grip and pistolĀ grip. Elements such as the barrel, sights or dummy lock are made of metal.
The replica is extremely compact in size, which facilitates maneuvering e.g. in tight spaces and at short distances, where the speed of reaction is a key issue. It is also equipped with 22mm RIS rails, allowing the attachment of additional accessories such as optical sights, tactical lighting or vertical front grips.
The replica can be instantly converted into an even shorter "Pistol" type unit by removing the flask and slide. This is possible due to the use of a different mechanism than in the standard AR-15 system. A 3-position pin serves as a selector/security switch, and the replica allows both single and continuous fire.
Firing the KelTec PLR16 provides an interesting experience due to the use of a powerful blow-back system. The realism of use is also added by the functioning bolt catch system - when the last bullet is fired, the lock remains in the rear position. After inserting the next magazine , you have to press the bolt catch to release the lock and thus insert a ball into the chamber - just like in the original firearm. It is possible to disable this system with a switch in the magazine , so it is possible to shoot "dry" with an empty magazine .
The replica comes with a real-cap magazine , which, in addition to the green gas tank, holds 20 rounds. The replica is compatible with standard M4 (STANAG) magazine s produced by the EC.
